HISTORY OF WINNERS FROM CAMBRIDGESHIRE

WHEN THE 2002 Annual Review of Harper Adams University College, Shropshire, is released next month, it will include the details of almost 40 special prizes and the students who won them.Amongst this impressive list, the winner of the 2002 Wrekin Farmers Challenge Cup for the best, honours degree, marketing dissertation will be recorded β a prize that is proving fruitful for students from one Cambridgeshire village.
James Hudson, 22, from Upwood, Cambridgeshire, won the 2002 Wrekin Farmers Challenge Cup and it was just five years earlier that Caroline Sweet (nee Racey), also from Upwood, was named winner of the 1997 prize.
Mr Hudson collected the Challenge Cup last September, when he graduated from Harper Adams with an Upper Second Class BSc (Hons) Agri-food Marketing and Business Studies degree.
His award-winning dissertation was entitled βAn investigation to assess the effectiveness of enhancing brand awareness of consumer goods through individual advertising campaigns or partnerships using the Internet in the UK.β
